Image Formats

1. GIF :
  • GIF, short for Graphics Interchange Format, is limited to the 8 bit in a particular picture with only 256 colors.
  • GIFs have the unique ability to display a sequence of images, similar to videos, called an animated GIF.
  • Extension file type, Will be ended with ".GIF ".

2. JPEG :
  • JPEG (JPG) is the abbreviation of “Joint Photographic Experts Group” and is a format commonly used to save photos.
  • It is the most common image format used to transfer the data over web and mobile as well as digital camera devices.
  • Extension file type, Will be ended with ".JPG ".

3. PNG :
  •  PNG is the abbreviation of “Portable Network Graphics” and is a file format similar to GIF.

  • It is an image format specifically designed for the web. PNG is, in all aspects, the superior version of the GIF.
  • It supports an 8 bit transparency and 24 bit RGB color images, grayscale images, both with and without alpha channels.
  • Extension file type, Will be ended with ".PNG ".
